FAQ

What is Ready 2 Learn?

Ready 2 Learn is a new program for children ages birth to 5 who live in Umatilla, Morrow, Union, Baker, Grant and Wallowa counties. Once parents register their children for the free Ready 2 Learn card, children will have access to a wide variety of books, movies, music, fun activities and educational programs through their local libraries. In addition, registration for the Ready 2 Learn card also opens an Oregon College Savings Plan for the child. Each time a child checks out a book or participates in one of the library programs, a small cash amount is credited to the child’s college savings account.

Who is eligible?

Any child from birth through age 5.

How does it work?

Every month that your child is enrolled in the program, you will receive a newsletter of fun and easy learning ideas! Visit your library for free baby, toddler and preschool programs. Each time you check out a book or attend one of these programs, a small cash amount will be credited to your child’s college savings account!

What do I need to do to get my child started with Ready 2 Learn?
